Is OwnerRez down, or did your calendar sync quietly break?
Listing Uptime · Updated July 22, 2026
Two very different things can throw your calendar off, and they have opposite fixes. One is a real OwnerRez outage: the platform is down for everyone, it is rare, and it shows up on a status page. The other is your own sync silently breaking: one link goes stale, one channel disconnects, only your listings are affected, and nothing warns you. Telling them apart is the whole game, because you cannot fix a broken sync by waiting for an outage to pass.
Is OwnerRez down right now?
OwnerRez does publish a status page, and most of the time it will show everything green while your own calendar sync is quietly broken.
OwnerRez runs a public status page at status.ownerrez.com, hosted separately from its own servers, covering platform components like the Main App, Channel Management, Messaging, and Background Services. It is the right place to check for a genuine platform-wide outage, and you can subscribe to email or SMS alerts there. What it cannot show is whether your own calendar connection stopped working: there is no component on that board for one host's iCal link or one channel that silently disconnected. A stale link on your account leaves the status page green.

The break a status page can’t show you
OwnerRez connects to Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com through a direct channel integration that OwnerRez says updates in near real time. Every other listing site, and any personal calendar like Google or Apple, connects by iCal import and export instead. On its own side OwnerRez rechecks each iCal import about once every 30 minutes and treats itself as the master calendar the channels sync back to. The exposure is the other side: OwnerRez has no control over how often a channel reads your calendar, and by its own research most channels only refresh every 4 to 6 hours, some just once or twice a day. Each import has a Sync Now button, but that only forces the OwnerRez side.
When one of those connections fails, OwnerRez keeps showing the last data it pulled. There is no red banner, because from the platform’s side nothing is down. The symptoms hosts actually report look like this:
- ·A reservation you canceled on the channel still shows as blocked in OwnerRez, because some feeds just drop the booking instead of sending a cancellation
- ·A booking on one channel takes hours to block the same dates on another, because the receiving channel only reads your calendar every 4 to 6 hours
- ·Imported reservations arrive as empty blocks with only dates and maybe a guest name, so a real booking looks like a glitch
- ·A listing site injects fake or abandoned-cart events into your feed that block real dates until you filter them out

A status page can’t see your account, but your calendars can be compared directly. Paste the export URL from each channel for one property. This lines them up and flags every night booked on one but still open on another, the gap that becomes a double booking. No signup, and it never touches guest details.
What to do if your sync broke
In OwnerRez, open Settings, Channels, then Calendar Import/Export and go to the Import tab. Click into the import that looks wrong and check its Sync Actions log for the last successful pull, then click Sync Now to force a fresh one. If it still will not update, uncheck the import's Active box and re-add it with a fresh export URL, since for channels like Vrbo a full remove and re-add is the only way to force a complete refresh. For Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com on the native integration, reconnect the channel from Settings, Channels instead.
Then confirm the calendars actually match rather than trusting that the reconnect worked, and plan for the next break. Re-linking fixes today; it does nothing about the next silent failure. Continuous monitoring re-checks every channel around the clock and messages you the minute a gap opens or a feed goes dark, in the window OwnerRez still shows green.
Questions hosts ask
Is OwnerRez down right now?
Check status.ownerrez.com, the official page for the Main App, Channel Management, and Messaging. If it shows an active incident, the outage is on their side and you wait. If it is all green but your calendar still looks wrong, the problem is almost certainly your own sync, which that page does not track.
Why is my OwnerRez calendar not updating?
OwnerRez rechecks each iCal import about every 30 minutes, but the channels themselves usually only read your calendar every 4 to 6 hours, so a change can lag well behind. A canceled reservation can also stick around because some feeds drop the booking instead of sending a cancellation. Open the import, hit Sync Now, and if it still will not move, remove and re-add it with a fresh URL.
Can OwnerRez double-book me?
It is built to prevent it by keeping every channel synced through a central calendar, and the native Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com connections update in near real time. The risk lives in iCal connections, where a channel can take hours to see a new booking or a link silently stops importing. Comparing the live calendars is the reliable check.
