Troubleshooting
Booking.com calendar not syncing?
Listing Uptime · Updated July 22, 2026
Booking.com is rarely actually down, and it does not publish a host status page to check. So when your calendar looks stale, the cause is almost always your own sync: the iCal import runs only every two hours, a link went stale, or a rate plan is missing a price so the room reads as closed. This page helps you tell an outage from a broken sync, fix it, and confirm your calendars actually match.
The 60-second answer
- 1There is no Booking.com status page. A real outage is rare and platform-wide, so if others are fine, the problem is your own listing.
- 2Give it 2 hours. Booking.com imports connected calendars every two hours. Click Import now in Sync calendars to pull sooner.
- 3Still wrong? Check for a dead link or a missing price, re-add a fresh export URL, then compare the calendars to confirm they match.
Is Booking.com actually down? There’s no status page to check
Booking.com publishes no official host or public status page. The partner site has help articles, but no live status surface. So the “is Booking.com down” results you find, Downdetector, UptimeRobot, IsItDownRightNow, all ping the public website only. None of them can see your extranet, your listing, or whether your last iCal import succeeded. A green “Booking.com is up” tells you nothing about whether your calendar is currently correct.
Why your Booking.com calendar isn’t syncing
Booking.com keeps availability in step with other channels through iCal, on a slow, eligibility- gated schedule. It fails in a handful of predictable ways:
- The 2-hour import lag. iCal is a pull every two hours, not real time, so a booking taken elsewhere in the last couple of hours simply has not been imported yet.
- A stale or expired import URL. Synced calendars can suddenly stop for no obvious reason. The first check is to paste the export URL into a browser and confirm the .ics file still loads, then re-export a fresh link.
- A missing price, so the room shows closed. With no price on a rate plan, dates carry a “Price missing” status and read as unavailable, which looks like a sync failure when the feed is fine.
- A room closed or auto-blocked. A room closed in the extranet, or auto-blocked after a large occupancy or base-price change, reopens on Booking.com’s own timetable, typically within about a day, not instantly.
- iCal eligibility limits. Sync calendars only appears if the property is bookable, has 20 room types or fewer with a maximum of one unit each, and uses no connectivity provider. Multi-unit or larger properties never get iCal at all.
- A connectivity-provider conflict. If the property is connected through a channel manager, Booking.com blocks the manual iCal option entirely, and a provider-side delay then looks like a Booking.com sync failure.
The fix, step by step
- Confirm eligibility first. In the Extranet, click Rates & Availability. If you see Sync calendars, iCal is available. If it is missing, the property is multi-unit, over 20 room types, or on a connectivity provider, and the fix lives with that provider, not here.
- Test the existing import. Open Sync calendars, copy the suspect connection’s source URL, and paste it into a browser. If the .ics does not load, the link is dead.
- Re-add a fresh link. Remove the broken connection, click Add calendar connection, paste the current export URL from the other platform, and name it. A regenerated or truncated URL is a top cause. Need your Booking.com export link? Here are the exact clicks.
- Force a pull, then confirm. Click Import now instead of waiting out the 2-hour cycle, check that no rate plan reads “Price missing,” then compare the calendars to confirm they now agree.

Do your calendars actually match right now?
Paste the export URL from each channel for one property. This compares them and flags every night booked on one but still open on another, the gaps that turn into double bookings. No signup, and it never touches guest details.
Why the fix does not stay fixed
Re-linking the calendar solves today’s problem. It does nothing about the next silent break, and iCal breaks quietly by design. The only way to stay ahead of it is to keep comparing the calendars on a schedule, which is what continuous monitoring does: it re-checks every channel around the clock and messages you the minute a gap opens or a feed goes dark, in the window Booking.com shows nothing at all.
Questions hosts ask
Is Booking.com down right now?
Almost certainly not, and Booking.com publishes no official host status page to confirm it either way. Third-party trackers like Downdetector, UptimeRobot, and IsItDownRightNow only ping the public website, so a green light there says nothing about whether your own listing's calendar is syncing correctly. A wrong calendar is far more often a broken import on your side than a Booking.com outage.
Why is my Booking.com calendar not syncing?
Usually your side, not theirs: the iCal import runs only every 2 hours so recent bookings have not pulled in yet, or the import URL went stale, or a rate plan is missing a price so dates read as closed. iCal also requires 20 room types or fewer with one unit each and no channel manager, or the Sync calendars option will not even appear. If you use a connectivity provider, availability flows through it and manual iCal is blocked.
How long does Booking.com take to update the calendar?
Booking.com's own help says connected calendars import automatically every two hours and can take up to two hours to refresh, so it is never instant. You can skip the wait with the Import now button in Sync calendars. After a big rate or availability change, dates can be temporarily auto-blocked and typically reopen on their own within about a day.
Can a broken Booking.com sync double-book you?
Yes. During the up-to-2-hour import gap, or whenever an import link is quietly dead, Booking.com still treats already-sold nights as open and can take a second reservation for them. Because nothing alerts you when a feed breaks, the only reliable defense is to compare your calendars regularly and get warned the moment they drift.
