Is Hostaway down, or did your calendar sync quietly break?
Listing Watchdog · Updated July 4, 2026
Two very different things can throw your calendar off, and they have opposite fixes. One is a real Hostaway outage: the platform is down for everyone, it is rare, and it shows up on a status page. The other is your own sync silently breaking: one link goes stale, one channel disconnects, only your listings are affected, and nothing warns you. Telling them apart is the whole game, because you cannot fix a broken sync by waiting for an outage to pass.
Is Hostaway down right now?
Hostaway does not publish a public status page, so there is no official source that will confirm it is down, or that your sync broke.
There is no official Hostaway status page. status.hostaway.com does not exist, and the results that look like one belong to unrelated companies: Hostway is a separate web host, and HostAway.net.au is an Australian internet provider. Hostaway does run a public changelog, but that lists new features, not incidents. In practice, when something breaks you are relying on the app itself, which means a silent per-listing sync failure has nothing that would surface it.
The break a status page can’t show you
Hostaway connects to Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com through direct, near real-time APIs, and uses iCal for channels without one. iCal imports poll roughly every 30 to 60 minutes and exports are picked up more slowly, and there is a known quirk where opening your own iCal URL in a browser can block Hostaway from re-fetching it for a couple of hours. None of that is visible from outside your account.
When one of those connections fails, Hostaway keeps showing the last data it pulled. There is no red banner, because from the platform’s side nothing is down. The symptoms hosts actually report look like this:
- ·A double booking that opens up in the polling gap between two iCal channels
- ·Manually moving a reservation between listings, which can sever that booking's Airbnb sync link
- ·Minimum-stay or availability changes that never propagate to a connected channel
- ·The Hostaway calendar reading correctly while Airbnb shows the wrong availability

A status page can’t see your account, but your calendars can be compared directly. Paste the export URL from each channel for one property. This lines them up and flags every night booked on one but still open on another, the gap that becomes a double booking. No signup, and it never touches guest details.
What to do if your sync broke
In Hostaway, open the affected channel or custom iCal connection, remove the broken link, and re-add a fresh, complete export URL, or reconnect the direct API from the channel settings. Avoid opening the iCal URL in your own browser right before, since that can lock Hostaway out of re-fetching it for a while.
Then confirm the calendars actually match rather than trusting that the reconnect worked, and plan for the next break. Re-linking fixes today; it does nothing about the next silent failure. Continuous monitoring re-checks every channel around the clock and messages you the minute a gap opens or a feed goes dark, in the window Hostaway still shows green.
Questions hosts ask
Does Hostaway have a status page?
No. Hostaway does not publish a public status page, and the similar-looking results belong to unrelated companies: Hostway, a web host, and HostAway.net.au, an Australian ISP. There is no official page that confirms a Hostaway outage or a broken sync.
Why is my Hostaway calendar not syncing?
Common causes are a stale iCal link, the browser-cache quirk that blocks re-fetching for a couple of hours, or a reservation move that severed an Airbnb sync link. Re-add a fresh export URL or reconnect the API, then compare the calendars to confirm it took.
Can Hostaway double-book me?
Yes, in the polling gap between channels or after a silent link break. Hostaway shows green while a single listing's feed is stale, so comparing the live calendars is the reliable check.
